We don't eat meat, but they accommodate with Delicious Seafood (fresh fish, shrimp, calamari), even a tofu mix that you'd swear might be ground beef. I swear, the XX tastes better on tap than out of the six pack.

with a great Tequila selection, Dox Equis on tap.

If you want unique food with what I/we'd call South of the Border maybe Fusion flare. Hints: order an enchilada each time you go, alternating the sauces until you have tried them all go with lots of friends and order all their tapas and eat Chinese-style they have a full bar though it is not well known and finally, order dessert. Ordering one or two tapas is perfect for lunch. which are a fusion of modern cuisines and traditional Mexican/Spanish cuisines. I tell all my friends to go in on Monday or Tuesday so you can have their Tapas. it reminds me of Colonial Mexican food, like you would find in Oaxaca, Morelia, Puebla. paired with similarly cooked, chicken or pork (they have other meats and fish too, of course. home made like sauces that have cooked for hours and hours. I love to eat at the bar, to feel like a "regular". Mexican music always in the back ground, great decor, and soft lighting. though discovered! I have been eating here for over. This is a great hidden restaurant in downtown Soquel. All in all ,we left having had a very good meal at reasonable prices, and will be back. They also have a variety of mescals and a decent wine list. Tortilla Flat has a huge selection of tequilas of all ranges and price ranges, Although I'm not a real aficianado and just enjoyed the Cuervo Gold in my margarita.

Service was a little scattered but pleasant. Fish tacos were fresh and well approved, and the vegetarian enchiladas were appreciated by one of us. It was tasty and showed some care in preparation. I enjoyed this restaurant's version of gallina en mole Poblano, a saucy mixture of chiles and sesame seeds with a bit of mexican chocolate thrown in. I've spent quite a bit of time in Mexico and enjoy cooking Mexican dishes, some of which take a lot of care to get right.

So, on Saturday we traipsed over and ordered a wide ranging set of dishes as well as some very tasty Margaritas. We decided to visit for dinner at the first opportunity. Everything was fine, the decor was pleasant and traditional, and the service was pleasant. Finally we went in one evening recently and had dessert and drinks. I had seen a line outside this place off and on for 3 years, but never ended up visiting although we heard good things about it. 4 of us went to Tortilla Flat Restaurant for the first time on Saturday.
